About Guver Canyon

Guver Canyon is located in the Dosemealti district of Antalya, near the Duzlercami area. Shaped over time by water flowing through karst terrain, the canyon is approximately 2 km long and reaches depths of around 115 metres at its deepest points.

Its steep canyon walls, travertine formations and surrounding woodland create a landscape that feels very different from Antalya's coastal areas. Guver, Karaman and Gurkavak streams are also part of the natural system around the canyon.

Geology and Canyon Scenery

The formation of the canyon is closely linked to the region's karstic rock and Antalya travertine formations. The long-term dissolving and erosive action of water gradually deepened the valley and created the steep structure visible today.

From the upper sections of the canyon, visitors can see the vertical rock walls, valley floor and surrounding forest in the same view. The appearance of water within the canyon can vary depending on the season and rainfall.

Guver Canyon Nature Park

Guver Canyon and its surroundings were designated as a nature park in 2007. The area is notable not only for its geology but also for its plant and wildlife diversity.

Red pine, juniper, oak and various Mediterranean plant species can be seen throughout the park. Official records also note a wide range of birds, reptiles, mammals and plant species in and around the protected area.

Viewpoints and Nature Activities

The viewpoint terrace inside the park is one of the main places for seeing the canyon from above. Walking, photography, plant observation and exploring the geological landscape are also among the activities visitors may enjoy in the area.

The amount of time spent here can vary depending on how much visitors walk, photograph the scenery, stop at viewpoints or explore different parts of the nature park.

Things to Keep in Mind

Some sections of the canyon have steep drops and naturally uneven terrain. Extra care is advisable near cliff edges and outside marked areas, especially when ground or weather conditions are poor.

Its relatively close location to central Antalya makes Guver Canyon an appealing place for visitors looking to experience forest scenery, fresh air and a dramatic canyon landscape away from the busier coastal areas.
