About Adam Rocks

Adam Rocks is a group of unusual rock formations located near the ancient city of Selge, within Koprulu Canyon National Park in Manavgat. Their tall, upright shapes resemble human figures, which is how the site became known locally as Adam Kayalari.

Because of its almost otherworldly appearance, the area is sometimes referred to as the “Avatar Land” or the “Fairy Chimneys of the Taurus Mountains”. The combination of unusual rocks, forest scenery and mountain landscapes makes it particularly interesting for walking, photography and enjoying the surroundings.

Rock Formations and Natural Scenery

Adam Rocks consists of conglomerate rock formed from materials such as sand and gravel that became compacted and hardened over time. Long-term erosion gradually shaped the rocks into the steep and unusual formations visible today.

Some of the rock pillars reach heights of roughly 10 to 70 metres. Rising above the surrounding forest, they can appear from a distance like a group of human figures standing side by side.

🌿 What makes Adam Rocks remarkable is not only the shape of the formations, but also the combination of Selge's historic setting, Taurus forests and expansive mountain scenery.

Visiting Adam Rocks

The area is well suited to walking, photography and simply enjoying the landscape. As the terrain is natural and uneven in places, comfortable footwear with good grip can be useful, particularly after rain or during very hot weather.

The amount of time spent here varies depending on walking pace, photography stops, how much of the surrounding area is explored and how long visitors choose to enjoy the views.
