The ancient city was included in the UNESCO Tentative World Heritage List in 2009 and is located on two main streets running north-south and east-west. The planning of the city is so unique that the water canal that runs through the middle of the colonnaded street in the north-south direction has turned the city into a 'Water City'.

Perge has one of the best-preserved ancient stadiums in Turkey with its 12,000-seat stadium and impressive 15,000-seat theater, dazzling with its history dating back to the 2nd century BC.
